This search allows you to choose criteria to find certified suppliers that can provide the certified sustainable seafood that you need. Below please find detailed explanations of the search criteria.
Simple search
Country
If you are searching for suppliers in a specific country or countries select these using the dropdown menu. If you don’t select anything the results will show suppliers in all countries around the world.
Species
If you are searching for particular species select these using the dropdown menu of common (English) names. If you don’t select anything the results will show suppliers of all certified species. There is an option to select species using their Latin names in the advanced search.
Activity
This search field refers to what the supplier is approved to do with the fish (e.g. processing, storage, distribution, etc). If you are searching for seafood from a supplier that conducts a particular activity select these using the dropdown menu. If you don’t select anything the results will show suppliers that conduct all activity types.
Under-MSC Assessment Fish
If you would like to see which companies are authorised to sell fish from fisheries that are undergoing assessment to become MSC-certified, select the fishery name here.
Hide 'not valid'
If you are searching for a supplier of certified seafood and only want to see suppliers that currently hold valid certificates please check this box. If this box is left unchecked the results will include suppliers that have had valid certificates in the past that have now expired or been suspended/withdrawn.
Advanced search
Species (Latin name)
If you are searching for particular species select these using the dropdown menu of Latin names. If you don’t select anything the results will show suppliers of all certified species. There is an option to select species using their common (English) names in the advanced search.
Supplier Name
If you want to see the certificate status of a particular supplier, type the supplier name, or any words in the supplier name in this field. The search will return any suppliers that include these terms in their name.
Certificate code
This is a unique certificate code given to each supplier that has an MSC chain of custody certificate to supply MSC certified seafood. Until 2017 companies will have both a certifier-generated code and an MSC-generated code under a valid certificate.
