Species name differences

Please note, species may be identified with different names to the ones used by the MSC and found on Find a Supplier.
The MSC endeavours to align the names used to identify species with the FAO ASFIS list where possible. The MSC acknowledges that there are many other species names used globally, including species names defined within national legislation. Common names are most likely to differ by region – it’s recommended to use the scientific name or contact the certificate holder directly if required.
